How We Make a Difference
Front Row Foundation
On Wednesday, April 8,
cancer-fighter Ethan was treated to an incredible experience. Thanks to the generosity of the
charity group "Front Row Foundation,” we were able to enjoy a Phillies
game from behind home plate in the third row!! After our chauffeured limousine
ride to Citizens Bank Park
we watched the pre-game World Series Ring Ceremony and cheered the Phillies on
as they pulled out one of the most exciting wins in years! Yes, its true if you
think you saw us on TV you really did. Our seats were in an area that was visible
at certain points during the Ring Ceremony and a couple times during the game.
Andrew Cherpak is a young man in his twenties battling a life-threatening illness. This illness has left him legally blind, unable to walk and in constant pain. He loves baseball, especially the New York Yankees.
His Front Row day began early and was short but sweet. At 8am, Andrew, his mom Lee Ann and his medical team (from North Shore Long Island Jewish Health System EMF) left from his home in Bayville, Long Island to be driven in an ambulance to Yankee Stadium. The ambulance arrived at Yankee Stadium a little after 9am. They met up with Jeffrey Paul Bobrick, who was the person who planned and delivered this memorable day for Andrew and his family.
Marisa has been fighting a genetic disease- cystic fibrosis (CF) all of her life. As a leader in her community, Marisa is a spokesperson for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in Phoenix. Marisa can light up a room with her energy, laughter and sweet personality. She is passionate about life and her relationships. Her genuine love for people and relationships is felt by anyone who she is around. She is loved by everyone. She is a Nanny by day, and according to her dad, “Marisa is that Nanny that EVERYONE would want to have.” Front Row Foundation talked to Selena from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation where they learned that Marisa and her family are huge fans of Jimmy Buffett. The last time that Marisa saw Jimmy Buffet in concert was with her younger sister (Wellsley) and their dad, shortly before Wellsley passed away from CF.
